The Durian factory, beneath the Ricketty Street Bridge

Beneath the north east corner of the Ricketty Street Bridge is the site of a disused factory formerly owned by Durian Holdings Pty Ltd.

It would not take a great deal of money to extend the cycleway through this site, as the ground is already very level and stable. This would allow the cycleway to continue north of the Ricketty Street Bridge to the almost complete cycleway near the former government archives building.

The Durian factory is within the City of Botany Bay Council area. In late 2007, the site was put up for sale, though the buyer is unknown. We hope that the owners will submit a Development Application (D.A.) to redevelop the site, which may provide a source of funding for the cycleway's construction.
